SkinMedica Peels in Roswell, GA
Dull, lifeless complexion making you look older than you feel? We offer SkinMedica peels for every skin concern and type. SkinMedica peels are gentle, yet effective at helping your skin slough off its outermost layer, revealing the younger-looking, bright, even-toned skin underneath.
Our SkinMedica peels show results on the very first peel, but for the most dramatic improvement in your skin, a series of peels are recommended. To find out which SkinMedia peel is right for you, schedule a complimentary consult with us today!
We offer three different SkinMedia Peels in our office:
The Rejuvenize Peel
The most powerful of the SkinMedica peels, The Rejuvenize Peel is appropriate for addressing severe imperfections, discoloration, and wrinkles. Peeling and redness may occur up to 14 days after the Rejuvenize Peel, revealing new, healthy skin you’ll love to see in the mirror.
Vitalize Peel
The Vitalize Peel is one of the most popular chemical peels in the U.S. today. The Vitalize Peel is right for mild to moderate imperfections of the skin such as fine lines, acne scars, and brown spots. The Vitalize Peel causes mild peeling that occurs about seven days after treatment.
Illuminize Peel
The most gentle chemical peel by SkinMedica, the Illuminize Peel is well suited for minor skin imperfections such as faint lines, uneven texture, and mild roughness. There is no peeling with the Illuminize Peel, and it’s safe to have done as often as every two weeks to give your skin a healthy glow.
SkinMedica Peel FAQs
Is there anything I should do to prepare for my peel?
The day of your peel, we ask that you come to the office without makeup. We will cleanse your face before your peel, but coming in makeup-free will make the process a little easier.
We also ask that you change your skincare routine just a bit in the week before your peel. Refrain from exfoliating, using topical acne or retinol products, and waxing the area for one week before your appointment. These can all make your skin more sensitive and can affect the performance of your peel.
We also ask that you refrain from tanning – either in the sun or a tanning bed – for two weeks before your peel.
Will I need to stay home and hide after my chemical peel?
Heavens, no! Those chemical peels that you see in the movies – where a woman has to hide under a veil for a week and not let anyone see her – are practically a thing of the past. While very aggressive peels can lead to redness and noticeable peeling, most chemical peels – like our SkinMedica peels – are gentle to your skin while still providing great results.
Am I too young/old to get a chemical peel?
The great thing about today’s SkinMedica peels is that there are options for skin of every age. For younger patients who want to refresh their skin to deal with discoloration or acne scarring, a light peel can be the perfect “reset button” revealing smoother, softer skin.
Even patients in their 70s and 80s love chemical peels. A deeper peel can erase tough wrinkles and reveal younger-looking skin in a way that nothing else can.
Who shouldn’t get a chemical peel?
Almost anyone can get a chemical peel, but there are some exceptions. Ask your provider before scheduling if you:
- Have taken an oral acne medication like isotretinoin in the past six months
- Are pregnant or think you could be pregnant
- Have a family history of keloid scarring
- Have frequent cold sore outbreaks
- Have ever had a bad reaction to a chemical peel in the past
